How tuition works
We don't print numbers here, because every student's mix of nights is different. This is what sets tuition and how each part works.
What sets tuition
Tuition depends on who is training and how many nights a week. Our figures are on the enrollment page, and Roark goes over them with you after your first class so nothing comes as a surprise.
Teen or adult program
Nights a week
Jiu-jitsu, judo or both
Registration
A joining fee sets up your file and covers the gi we help you choose. It is due when you enroll, and the amount is on the enrollment page.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly by autopay through our member portal. A reminder goes out a few days before each billing date, and you can update your card there any time.
Help with tuition
A lot of the people who train here work seasons, shifts or both. If a month is tight, ask us whether a scholarship or a payment plan is open right now. We answer in person.
Withdrawing
Memberships run month to month. To stop, tell us in writing at least 30 days ahead; the month in progress is billed as usual. You can pause for an injury, a long season on the job, a new baby or a trip. Ask us how.
Month to month
Written notice, 30 days ahead
Pauses by arrangement
Missed classes and make-ups
A missed class can be made up in any class of your level the same week. Tell Roark ahead and we'll find a night that fits. Make-ups don't carry into the next session.
Uniforms, costumes and other costs
Beyond tuition, a few costs exist, and each is for something specific. The amounts are on the enrollment page.
A gi and a white belt, when you join
Seminars and visiting coaches, only if you choose to go
Tournament entry, only if you choose to compete
Ask us anything
If a part of this isn't clear, send a message and we'll go through it with you.
