Classes
Four kinds of night
Each class has its own night and its own hour, and a first-timer can start with any of them.

Jiu-jitsu: fundamentals
Ground work from the beginning: how to fall, hold a position, escape and finish. Monday evenings for white and blue belts, taught in the gi.
Monday, 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Ages 18 and up

Judo: throws and falls
Wednesday is the standing night. We learn to fall well, then to grip, off-balance and throw a partner on the tatami.
Wednesday, 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Ages 16 and up

The teens' class
A Monday hour for ages 14 to 17, with a coach on the mat the whole time. Slow, light work on the basics, and a bench by the door for a parent.
Monday, 5:30 to 6:30 pm
Ages 14 to 17

All levels, then open mat
Thursday begins with a class for every belt and finishes with an hour of open mat, when partners pair up and the coach walks around.
Thursday, 6:30 to 9:00 pm
Ages 16 and up
Not sure which night?
Tell us what you've done before, if anything, and we'll point you to a class.
